Hotbar artifacts grant stats while they sit in a hotbar slot. Most have an active: use with the main hand (RMB). Components — Yak Horn, Wind Cloak, Mantle and Soul Vial — only give a passive attribute bonus.
The Rapier is destroyed when the character dies. Read the gold tooltip line and the Contents section before equipping.
